Change is going to happen whether you like it or not. Nothing and I mean nothing in this world is permanent, not even your problems. The problems you face today, you won’t be facing them in a year or 5 years from now, It’ll be a whole new conflict depending on where you are at in your life. If you want to become a better you, that requires change - a change in mindset a change in perception and the list goes on. For a very long time, I feared change in some aspects of my life, some things I just wanted to always remain the same. One thing I never did was fear change in my self, I knew deep down what I wanted and will change and evolve to match that without letting go of my core beliefs. But as I began to change the things around me would to and that’s what I feared the most.
"Life has a really funny and fucked up way of forcing you to change and they come in the form of a lesson.”
Some people fuck up once and go “I’m never doing that again” and try something else. Then there are people like me who go through the lesson 5/6 times until we finally realize something needs to change after we done exhausted ourselves (we learn a lot though). Then you’ve got the people who ignore the lesson over and over again and sometimes things are going great for them but the thing about life guys is that if you don’t learn that lesson it WILL come back around and depending on how far you got, it’ll hit HARD.
Answer me this: Are you the same person you were 3 years ago? I really do hope not but you’ve changed hopefully, right? You’ve learnt a lot and are now applying that to better you. We don’t always see the little steps to change we take throughout the year, but we look back a couple years like “ewwwww, I can’t believe I did that shit.”
Change is gradual. Change is necessary. Sometimes you’re not going to be ready for the changes life throws at you but just know that in order to be the best you possible, it had to happen.
