Gratitude during Covid-19
What the actual hell is going on right now? An extroverts worst nightmare is taking place & it’s even to the point where introverts are starting to get a little irritable…
These truly are unprecedented times and many of us honestly never saw this coming but if I was to speak from an intellectual standpoint - history sure does like to repeat itself. Our way of living has drastically changed within days for some and in a matter of weeks for others.
But one thing I think we can all agree on: This shit is weird.
Now during this pandemic, some of us are:
Bored in the house and we're in the house bored,
Using this oppurtunity to start our own businesses whether it be for the demand of masks or a business in which the recession can’t hit too hard,
Finally cleaning areas of our houses we’ve been putting off for months - maybe even years,
Using this time to actually exercise & eat right,
Starting/picking up hobbies we enjoy,
Doing the same shit we’ve been doing (ain’t nothing new).
While some of us are:
Wondering how our next bill will be paid/how our kids will eat next week,
Dealing with an unsteady home life 24/7,
Going through physical/emotional trauma everyday,
Living through a nightmare because COVID-19 has taken loved ones,
Have not seen/held their loved ones in weeks because their on the frontlines,
Losing it because isolation is just too much to handle.
The list goes on you see, you could be better off or you could be worst off, whatever the case may be this is definitely the time to show some gratitude. Being grateful for the tiniest of things right now can go one hell of way - Not sure what to be grateful for? Let me help you.
Got a roof over your head? - bam that’s one!
You ate today? - bam that’s two!
You bingeing shows? - look tvs/laptops are not cheap.
You have loved ones to talk to? - you can facetime them too? bam four!
At any part of today, did you enjoy doing something? - That’s what I thought.
Are you and your family Covid-19 free? - I rest my case your Honor
I know sometimes when we have 100 stressors attacking all at once, it can be hard to just carry on the day but I promise you if everyday you wrote/thought of at least one thing that bought you happiness and made you feel good inside even for a minute - cherish it and let it be the force that helps you to push forward.
Now, remember what Lil Duval says, “We’re in this together but stay away from me.”
